About Alla Issa
The only avid reader/writer you’ll meet who sucks at Scrabble!
I double majored in English and Human Rights and was particularly interested in texts that catalyze and fuel political and social movements. These days, I’m know for spouting off bad jokes and semi-random literary or historical facts. You can find me engrossed in a good book, hanging out (read: arguing) with my many family members, or wandering NJ’s many parks.

Books, art, hiking, biking, tatreez, visiting museums, wandering gardens, and, above all, my cat.
What’s your favorite movie or TV show?
Hannibal! It’s a perfect mix of good writing and surreal imagery set against an absolutely outlandish plot. 10/10 would recommend.
How would your friends describe you?
I’ve been told I am simultaneously the “mom friend” and the one who needs a “mom friend” watching over me to keep me from doing impulsive things. I may get us into a mess by suggesting something spontaneous (read: haphazard), but you can count on me to have a first aid kit when things inevitably go awry.
What is one important skill every person should have?
Compassion is a highly undervalued skill, but infinitely beneficial to master.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, you can catch me reading, attending a theatre or dance performance, exploring the city, or trying to make friends with the wildlife in various parks (with little success).
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Shapeshifting is the way to go! You can transform into whatever you need to be in order access other abilities. It’s like a bunch of powers wrapped up into one!
