About Alex Truong
“If it makes you nervous, you’re doing it right.”
I was born and raised in San Diego after my parents immigrated from Vietnam in 1985. As I grew up, I bridged the cultural differences that my parents experienced in their new home. This allowed me to strengthen my identity as a Vietnamese-American individual. My parents’ work ethic and endless sacrifices have provided me a life in which I have been able to receive an education and pursue my passions.

B.S. Managerial Economics, UC Davis
Interests:
I enjoy powerlifting with my best friends. You can find me at concerts and music festivals with my girlfriend, Nikole. During football season, Sundays are spent rooting for the Los Angeles (still San Diego to me) Chargers.
What did you want to be when you were 5?
I wanted to be in the NFL when I was 5.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower it would have to be the power of teleportation.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?
I like to spend my free time playing video games, hanging out with my dogs, and searching for new places to eat.
